Just before Christmas I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer stage 3 & started chemo-therapy February 4th. Being a clean & sober addict in recovery, I've refrained from all pain meds & taken nothing but Motrin & Tylenol thru 2 surgeries, a bone marrow biopsy & 2 chemo sessions. Needless to say, I've been in discomfort. I've been flirting with the idea of pain medicine although I'm deathly afraid of starting down that path unless I'm in excruciating circumstances.
I emptied my bank account paying cash for cancer diagnosis & one surgery. I purchased insurance thru the Affordable Care Act, but have been challenged to earn the income I need to get by being sick.
I casually met Monica May a number years ago. When Monica heard about my struggle with discomfort, she reached out & offered me a complimentary session as ACA won't cover acupuncture.
I arrived at the office in the early afternoon, was greeted with a smile & soon after was explaining to Monica the pain I've been experiencing as well as insomnia that often accompanies chemotherapy. After a thorough interview, Monica applied the acupuncture & before she even left the room I found myself drifting off to sleep.
Nearly an hour had passed when Monica re-entered the room and woke me. Still, in a dream-like a state, I drove on the Royal Oak, climbed into bed & slept more than I have in over a month.
Even after only one treatment, the tightness in my shoulders & back where I seem to carry my tension have dramatically lessened, I am calmer & been sleeping far better.
My life much more bearable & words can't express how grateful I am.
Warm Regards & POSITIVE LOVE,
Daniel Ottney
