During Therapy:
I changed my diet (started following the Acid Watcher Diet),
took out dairy and gluten (as they are inflammatory) and took probiotics, digestive
enzymes and a supplement called GI-Encap that helps coat and protect my stomach.
I noticed minor improvement after 2 weeks. More improvement 2 weeks after that
and finally could expand my diet and eat bigger portions about a month and a half
to two months afterwards. I went to the dr recently and while I haven't had a scope
to confirm, the dr is certain my gastritis has healed or at least healed enough to
where it shouldn't be a problem for now. Still following a decent diet - think
that's key to managing this long term.
I did the healing phase for 6 months. Maintenance phase for 3 months...
then started testing boundaries.
Paleo is a great start but I healed mine with the Acid Watcher Diet.
Keeping acidic and inflammatory foods out of your diet is really important!

Title: Healing my Gastriris with Acid
Eating Out: i personally stayed away from eating out for 6 months when I first
had gastritis. It really helped support healing. I brought a lunch bag with
me if I had to eat out one day.
What I do to control my Hernia: I take heel drops every morning. I also do an
strengthening exercises once my hernia is in the proper place to help mitigate
it happening as easily.
What i did to control my SIBO: Neem
What did I avoid: I personally would avoid mexican seasoning since it typically
includes chili powder. I ate a lot of plain ground beef with oregano, salt
and cilantro seasoning while healing. I avoided yoghurt for several months as well.
My 2 cent advice: If you do not have low stomach acid, I would recommend NOT trying
ACV or HCL as it can cause more gastritis damage. WTG for following the Acid Watcher
Diet, that is a great first step! I would also recommend GI ENCAP, which is a stomach
coater that promotes healing of the lining and L-Glutamine powder which helps actually
heal the lining. Both of these supplements really helped me.
Outcome: I just had an endoscopy (6 months after my gastritis started) and there is no
evidence of gastritis so I feel comfortable that these two things healed me. On top of the above, I
also took digestive enzymes to help give my system a break and probiotics.I never took PPIs.
