History:I would like to share this recent experience as it’s quite common for medical qigong practitioners to encounter. I was enjoying my favourite coffee at a coffee shop when the lady (aged 48) who served me complained about a severe pain in her neck. She had the pain for more than 2 weeks. The pain was at the right side of the neck, extending to the shoulders and up to behind her right ear. Turning her neck was a no-no.
Therapy:
I treated her for 15 minutes and the pain was gone. No relapse the next day. Immediately after the treatment she felt her body was very hot and she was sweating.
This is what I did:
i. Using my fingers (especially the thumbs) to press down with medium force from both side of C1-C7 and continue to the shoulder muscles. Repeat several times, this helps to release tension in the muscles of the neck and shoulders. Don’t forget that you are emitting qi through the tips of your fingers while doing this “massage”.
Using your right thumb, slowly press the right side of the neck and push it up to the back of the ear and reverse direction. This clears the blockage there.
ii. Using tripod fingers of both palms, apply them on the edge of the cervical vertebrae from C1-C7.
Repeat as many times as necessary.
This protocol is from Quantum Touch Therapy.
Place one palm on the cervical area and your other palm on Dazhui and emit qi to energise and stabilise these areas.
Conclusion: She had accumulated plenty of cold and damp, resulting in blockages and qi and blood stasis (stagnation).
I would appreciate members feedback if they have used different protocols for such cases. It would be a learning point for me.
