Facial Cellulitis caused by a staph infection. The patient experienced a spider bite on her rectum / right side. Soon after a staph infection developed. Was prescribed Bactrim and Clindamycin for 10 days, yet without any effective results. Symptomatology was mainly described as a hot, burning and swelling sensation. Then, her doctor switched to a Sulphur based anti-biotic, and within two days of taking the drug, her face started to swell up. The patient’s condition got increasingly worse. She was prescribed steroids – two rounds – yet without any curative results. By then, her face started to peel with extreme stinging and itching sensation. Patient started to take Benadryl just to relieve the extreme itching. Patient came to see me after six weeks of the initial spider bite.
Management & Outcome
As the patient was in severe discomfort, I was very much aware, that a sensitive approach needed to be applied here. Yet, due to the deep-seated suppression of the prescribed medication, I also was aware, that it is quite possible, that the patient will experience a healing crisis, meaning the body must release the accumulated toxins within the body next to the curative process. Homeopathy is highly successful with cellulitis and I was confident, that the patient will be fully healed within a few weeks.

Case Discussion
As expected, the patient initially experienced her brief healing process of releasing the accumulated suppressed toxins in the form of a high fever, which lasted for two days. Her face displayed a deeper red discoloration, yet the site of her spider bite started to heal. During the fever episodes, the intermittent prescribed homeopathic remedy Belladonna took care of the high temperature and reduced the red facial discoloration. The homeopathic remedy Apis mellifica is indicated for cellulitis with edema and swelling of the parts of the body. The patient was fully healed without any side-effects or any relapses after three weeks.
