Holly Johnston, Stratford Naturopath About Dr. Holly Johnston, BSc, ND Born and raised in Stratford and surrounding rural communities, Holly developed a curiosity for nature and the outdoors early on in her childhood. Growing up, her favourite place to spend time was on the family farm helping out with the harvesting and exploring the fields and wooded areas. Following her interest for biological sciences and health, she pursued an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences from the University of Guelph. Outside of her studies, Holly worked with the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Guelph promoting community health and awareness. Her involvement in the community as well as her undergraduate research thesis in genetics and metabolism led to her awareness and interest of natural medicine*. She then continued her education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed the four year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine graduate program. During her clinical internship, Dr. Holly had the opportunity to work in many clinics across the greater Toronto area, including the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Queen West Community Health Centre. She was also selected to be a part of the Brampton Naturopathic Teaching Clinic, located in the Brampton Civic Hospital, which is the first and only clinic of its kind in Canada to offer naturopathic services in a hospital environment.
