Tuna has very high amounts of omega-3-fatty acids that has lot of benefits to curtail heart disease. Omega – 3-fatty acid reduces the levels of harmful Omega-6-fatty acids and excess cholesterol levels from blood vessels. It also contains high amounts of potassium, that helps reduce blood pressure and prevents the risk of heart attacks and stroke.

Vitamin C, Zinc, Manganese and Selenium are some of potent antioxidants present in Tuna. All of these compounds scavenge free radicals and prevent onset of diseases like cancer, inflammatory disorders and other chronic diseases. In addition, Tuna contains more than 200% of daily recommended levels of selenium, making this fish very beneficial for health.
