Content Quality Guidelines

While we are an open platform, all content on NourishDoc needs to meet the following criteria.

Coach on a Permitted Topic

NourishDoc content covers a wide variety of topics related to wellness, mindfulness, fitness, nutrition, mental health, personal development, and lifestyle improvement. There’s a lot of room for unique and specific skills and expression within these fields, but some topics are off-limits. To learn more, review our Restricted Content Topics list.

Meet Minimum Standards of Our Content Formats

Programs

Programs are structured, self-guided or semi-guided wellness offerings developed by the NourishDoc team. Programs may incorporate Contributor Content from Coaches as defined in the Coach Terms and Conditions. Programs follow NourishDoc’s internal content standards and include clear learning objectives, actionable wellness activities, and organized content modules.

Guided Experiences (Coach-Created Digital Products)

Guided Experiences include workshops, bootcamps, masterclasses, and events offered by Coaches through the platform. These are educational group learning experiences and must meet the following standards:

Workshops & Masterclasses: These focused learning experiences should be at least 30 minutes in length and include an introduction, actionable wellness guidance, and organized content sections.

Bootcamps: Multi-session programs that typically run over several days or weeks. Each session within a bootcamp should meet the standards for workshops, and the overall bootcamp should have a clear progression of learning.

Events: Live or pre-recorded group educational sessions that provide practical wellness guidance. Events must be educational in nature and designed for group participation.

Short-form Content: Can be as short as 2 minutes and as long as 15 minutes in length. Short-form content needs to include practical wellness guidance but does not need to include a formal introduction or outro to be considered complete.

Wellness Certifications (Coach-Created Digital Products)

Wellness Certifications are comprehensive educational programs that certify users in specific wellness topics or practices. These must include:

  • Structured curriculum with clear learning outcomes
  • Multiple lessons or modules organized in a logical progression
  • Assessment or evaluation components
  • Actionable wellness practices throughout
  • Certification criteria and completion requirements

Platform Scope: Group Learning Only

NourishDoc does not facilitate one-on-one consultations or individualized health advice. All content must be designed for group learning environments and educational purposes. Content that promotes, offers, or solicits individual consultations will not be approved.

*Please note that all first lessons in each piece of content continue to be free. That means that if you publish content that contains only one lesson (however long it may be), that one-lesson offering will be offered for free and you won’t earn any revenue from it.

Include an Introduction

Your intro is essentially the preview for your content. It’s the first thing users see when they click on your offering and the only part of your content that non-members can see. At a minimum, the introduction should:

  • Be the very first section of your content.
  • Stand on its own and clearly explain what the content is about.
  • Let users know what they’re about to learn and what they can expect.
  • Provide more information on your experience with the topic and background.

To learn more about what makes a compelling introduction, refer to the section Planning Your Introduction in the article Outline Your Content.

Include Actionable Wellness Activities

At NourishDoc, we believe real transformation happens through practical application. As such, all content on NourishDoc needs to have clear and engaging wellness activities that users can implement in their daily lives. At a minimum, it should include:

  • Clear, step-by-step guidance on wellness practices, exercises, or techniques users can apply immediately
  • Practical tools, worksheets, or self-assessment activities that support their wellness journey
  • Specific recommendations for daily habits, routines, or lifestyle changes
  • Measurable goals or milestones users can track their progress against
  • Resources for continued practice beyond the content (such as suggested reading, apps, or follow-up exercises)

Need more direction on how to develop effective wellness activities for any type of content? Refer to the article Craft Your Wellness Action Plan.

Include Well-Organized Content

Great coaching requires a solid structure based upon a lesson plan or content outline. At a minimum:

  • Each of your video lessons must have a clear title that reflects the content of the lesson.
  • Each piece of content or video section should only be uploaded once. Content that is overly repetitive may be removed.

For additional guidance on how to organize and plan your lesson content, refer to the article Outline Your Content.

Meet Standards for Audio & Video Quality

High-quality audio and video ensures that users can stay focused on learning. Keep in mind:

  • The audio in your content must be clear and easy to understand. It should also be free of distracting background noises, such as hums, fuzziness, crackling, or echoes.
  • Your audio should sync with your video footage and come out of both channels.
  • Your video must be high resolution (1080p) and shot with a steady camera, clear lighting, and framing.
  • Your video must be filmed in 16:9 aspect ratio (horizontal) for slides and video.
  • Screencasts, images, and text must be sharp, not blurry or pixelated.
  • Narration, commentary, and/or voiceovers should be natural and clear without the use of computer-generated voices.*

To ensure you’re capturing the best quality video and audio, refer to our articles in the Filming & Editing section.

*Exceptions apply, please email [email protected] if you require an accommodation

Vary Visual Presentation

We require that coaches include a variety of visuals and/or visual formats, such as adding in on-screen text, slides, or example images, to help emphasize key takeaways or explain complex ideas. Even switching up camera angles can break up static shots and keep users engaged. Content should not showcase one static picture or slide for the entirety of a lesson.

In addition to varied visuals, within each piece of content:

  • Talking head shots need to be well-lit with professional backdrops.
  • Slides need to be well-structured and visually appealing.
  • Avoid rambling, ums, or excessive pauses.

Limit Self-Promotion

Coaching on NourishDoc is a great way to grow your brand and build your audience. As long as your activities remain aligned with our Community Guidelines, Coaching Policies, and Terms of Service, we encourage you to engage with your followers regularly and link to your website and social media accounts from your NourishDoc profile.

Within your content though, marketing of your brand must be limited so that users can stay focused on learning. To that end, self-promotion within your content (e.g., discussing your personal brand or business; encouraging users to follow you on social media or visit your website; sharing logos or other personal branding) should only happen within your introduction and conclusion videos. We will make exceptions for short-form content that does not need to include an introduction or conclusion lesson.

You are permitted to refer to any of your previous NourishDoc content anywhere within your offerings as long as the reference is in support of user wellness (e.g., it provides foundational wellness concepts or complements your coaching in the current lesson).

You may not use your content to solicit or promote one-on-one consultations, private coaching sessions, or individualized health advice, as these services are outside the scope of the NourishDoc platform.

Foster Genuine Learning

We support authentic, inspired learning and all content on NourishDoc is, first and foremost, educational. Therefore:

  • Content may not consist simply of a walkthrough, review, or demo of a certain website or tool without any added knowledge-based value from the coach.
  • We don’t permit content that guarantees or promises a specific outcome or is geared primarily towards helping users achieve a static or monetary reward (i.e., “get rich quick” schemes) or a follower count on a platform (i.e., “hacks” for growing your Instagram audience).
  • Content must be designed for group learning environments and may not promote or facilitate one-on-one consultations or individualized advice.

Share Unique Educational Value

NourishDoc values creativity, original thought, and coaches bringing their unique perspectives to their content topics. Keep in mind that:

  • Your video lessons should include narration throughout as you impart your expertise through tips, best practices, frameworks, concepts, theory, and/or examples that are your own. Your personal knowledge, experience, and insight are the most valuable things you have to share!
  • Content may not draw from external materials that did not originate with the coach for a significant portion of the offering.
  • Content should be made for NourishDoc, and not branded for any other online coaching platforms.

Adhere to Our Community Guidelines and Coaching Policies

We take the safety of our community seriously. All content must meet our Community Guidelines, which protect all users within the NourishDoc community.

Coaches using NourishDoc to publish their learning content are also bound by our Coach Terms and Conditions, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.
