A 70-year-old male patient presented with fever, chills, and rigors. He had 101°f temperature with vomiting of 2 episodes and diarrhea of 4 episodes. Vomitus included food that was eaten for lunch. The patient was on panchatikta ghrita snehapana 60ml for 7th day(shamana snehapana) for Psoriasis. Due to pradnyaparadh he ate food without experiencing proper appetite. O/E Pulse: 98/minBP: 180/98mmHgRS: ClearPA: SoftDiagnosis: Sneha Ajirnajanya Jwaratisara
Treatment: Pachana, Anulomana, Swedana.Â
For pachana guduchi and dhanyak siddha ushna jala 10ml hot water to sip every 20 mins.Â
Medicine: Amrutottaram Kashayam tablet 1/8th piece every half hour.Â
He was asked to sit with his body covered with a blanket.Â
Prognosis: Loose motions stopped, vomiting also stopped, nausea was present but vanished after one hour.Â
The temperature came down to 100°F after 2 hours.Â
After 5 hours temperature came down to 97°F.Â
BP: 130/70mm hg
Pulse: 78/min
His appetite was not present till late at night. We stopped the tablet with instructions for him to drink medicated water.Â
Next morning, he passed compact stools without any difficulty.Â
His appetite improved as well. Peya with saindhav and trikatu churna was given.Â
He had a proper appetite after medication. He was also given manda with saindhav and trikatu churna at the same time. Diet was followed for 2 days.Â
Only two tablets were required for the entire treatment.Â
Next day condition was improved with lightness in the head and abdomen.Â
His appetite had improved significantly with all of his vitals stable.
