Patient came to me with chief complaint of red colored, scaly maculopapular rashes on skin with well defined red borders.Location: Back of hand, inguinal folds, folds of breasts and under-arms since 8 months. It started as an allergy to wearing woolens clothes. To begin with patient first tried home remedies, then allopathic and homeopathic treatment. When she did not get the desired relief she came to me.Sensation: The affected part of the skin had intense itching; When scratched it caused immense burning and some watery discharge oozed out of it. This discharge when it touched the nearby healthy skin area, it caused new eruptions. And this cycle continued. When the person applied allopathic ointment the skin patch turned dry and became flaky.
I took complete medical history from the patient. It included recording not only her physical problems but other detailed information linked to her health as well as her personality. Information like- her liking for any particular food item, degree of physical activity, bowel movement, menstrual history, sleep pattern,her temperament, hobbies, what mental stresses she underwent in her life and the way she reacted/handled them- so and so forth. It took me about an hour to finish asking her all the details.
11th Sept, 2019- Homeopathic remedy Chamomilla 200 C was given based on all the symptoms.
22nd Sept- Redness, thickness in the skin patch decreased, itching was present.
23rd Sept- A boil appeared on thigh; within few days boil became more painful and increased in size but the skin patches improved.
29th Sept- Hepar Sulphuris 200 C, 3 doses were given for the boil
4th Oct- Boil healed completely
14th & 16th OCt- A lymph node swelling appeared in under-arm and a new boil appeared on lips but the skin patches improved.
9th Nov- All the improvements had come to a halt, Chamomilla 200 C- 1 dose given.
21st Nov- Skin itching was excessive, with general over-all improvement of skin patches. Sulphur 200 C, 1 dose was given as an inter-current remedy based on the then current symptoms.
It is to be noted that apart from the above mentioned medicines and dosage, the patient was given Placebo as daily medicine. The patient continued to improve thereafter without being given any other medicine.
April, 2020- All the skin patches got healed and cleared.

First to clear were the patches in under-arms, then that of breast folds, then hands followed by hips and lastly those of thighs and finally toes. If the improvement in skin diseases does not follow this ‘above downwards’ pattern, then the chances of recurrence of skin ailments are higher.

POINTS TO BE NOTED:
1. Homeopathic remedies in potencies of ‘C’ are very deep acting and a single dose given continues to work for many weeks or months.
2. During the course of treatment, you may experience re-occurence of some old health problems /symptoms you had had some years back or as a child. This is a very good sign of improvement.
(In this case, the patient had a old medical history of boils off and on; and therefore she experienced the return of boils after starting the treatment).
3. In Skin diseases, the improvement should always follow the pattern of above downward; Meaning patches on head should disappear first and then on chest, then hands, stomach and the last to go away should be that of feet.
4. Patient had chronic constipation and bleeding piles (occasionally) because of constipation which also got cured along with the Skin symptoms; As the selected Homeopathic remedy was for the healing of whole body rather than just her Skin.
