Blood Pressure normal, good health, works 40 hours per week. Married, dealing with insomnia and fatigue. He had been having night caps to help with somnolence. Patient experiencing burning sensation, abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, chills, diarrhea, vomiting and fainting spells. Slight temperature 101.5. Good health, regular diet and exercises occasionally. Insomniac. Patient presented with abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, fainting spells, bouts of diarrhea, bloating and slight fever. He felt weak, and experienced periods of cold sweat. Symptoms appeared over a twenty-four hour period.Gastritis–may be caused as a result of a bacterial infection or too much alcohol consumption.
Therapy Suggested: Lime and salt drink suggested to immediately stop diarrhea. Once bowels were under control, patient was instructed to take activated charcoal to alleviate gas and bloating. Garlic pills to clear up infection. Consumption of Epsom salt solution (three tablespoons of Epsom salts diluted in a glass of water) as needed; for reduction of inflammation and detoxification. Homeopathic remedy nux vomica to stop vomiting and cease fainting spells. B12 was recommended on a daily basis for vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Dietary Recommendations: Ginger tea, buttermilk, citrus fruits, bok choy, asparagus, broccoli and water consumption. Daily dose of probiotics. Avoid dairy, alcohol, pastries, mayonnaise, fried foods, and red meat.
Lifestyle Changes: Eliminate distractions in sleeping area (i.e.) TV, Radio. Patient instructed to consume peppermint tea before bed for relaxation and to decrease stomach acidity. Stress reduction advised as well as ample rest. Patient encouraged to enroll in yoga or swimming classes. A drink of coconut recommended daily to soothe digestive system.
Physical examination conducted to determine level and area of discomfort in abdominal region. Patient’s low grade temperature indicated there may be an infection present. After 3 days of homeopathic remedy, vitamin supplementation therapy and nutrition therapy patient’s symptoms improved. Within a week patient was back to normal routine feeling rejuvenated.
Type of Outcome: Since initial consult patient symptoms of gastritis have diminished and he no longer has issues with fatigue and lack of sleep. Patient immune system has improved as a result. From a scale of 1-10 , the patient went from a 3 to a 9.
