The patient consulted Jiva doctor for treatment of Hypothyroidism. Since diagnosis, the patient had been taking prescribed allopathic medicine without fail. Despite that, her TSH level increased to 22 iu/ml from 14 within three months while T3 and T4 remained normal. A few months ago, she had put on extra weight, but by the time of consultation, her weight had become normal.In addition to Thyroid, she had been suffering from swelling in her body and severe hair fall for which she tried multiple things, both externally and internally. In other issues, she complained of progressive dried skin that was badly affecting her heels and there were a lot of cracks. With all such conditions, she decided to discontinue the allopathic medicine as it was not proving beneficial in managing the problem. Specific Advice for Ayurvedic Treatment for Hypothyroidism:
Pathya: Advised to walk a little daily, practise yoga-pranayam, take lukewarm water and honey, and drink enough water throughout the day.
Apathya: Advised to avoid curd, heavy, fried, oily things, baingan, katahal, arabi, matar, bhindi, drinking water immediately after eating, sleep during day time etc. must be avoided.

Outcome on Ayurvedic Treatment for Thyroid Disease
 Patient, gradually started feeling good change in general well being as there was mild improvement in swelling, dry skin, hair fall and digestion. Instead of heaviness she was feeling light and energetic. In Dec, TSH test was done in which value was 13.4 iu/ml from 22 at the time of consultation. In Feb, 2018 test was again conducted that disclosed TSH value was remarkably reduced to 4.83 iu/ml.
This progress continued in coming months as revealed by periodic TSH investigations that were absolutely in normal range without allopathic medicines. Her digestion improved and she was feeling much better in digestion, and her energy level and hair health also improved.
