A 17-year-old girl came to me for the treatment of the following complaints. She had started her menstruation cycle at the age of 15 but it would last for 8 to 10 days with profuse blood discharge. Her menses would start every 13th day of the month and after a few days break, she would get her menses again on 17th in the same month. I did USG and it showed calculi in the left kidney with a recurrent attack of cold and cough. In this case, I took her genetic constitutional similimum and noted the following rubrics:Physical makeup: Slim figure long neckDisposition: Violent AngerThermal: HotThirst: ThirstyApptt: NStool: Hard ConstipationSleep: DisturbedLikes: Salt and Green chillies MisanthropyRe-servedFastidiousSleeps with a hand overhead
Based on the diagnosis, I prescribed Nat.mur 10 M/single dose with placebo on 9th of the month.
Follow up:
After two days, she reported that her bowel movements were fine and she was able to sleep through the night without any bad dreams. She felt some itching and skin eruptions that subsided by itself. However, after two days she got cold and fever of 103F. She didn’t take any medication and after 12hrs fever came down to 971/2F.
She got a few pimples on her face but her face cleaned up by itself after a few days.
Now on 17th of this month, she was afraid of facing the same problem of having her menstruation. Her menses stopped appearing twice a month as it was happening when she started her consultation with me.
Starting from next month, her menses started on the 3rd day of the month and this time she didn’t bleed profusely as it was the case earlier. She got her menses for four days as is normal for all young girls. She gets her menses at regular intervals now. After six months USG was done again and we didn’t find any trace of calculi. Since her initial consultation, two years have passed. She is in great health and keeps in touch!
