History:A male aged 50 working at Hindustan Steel Works as a driver had a right side abdominal pain for the last 2 years with Hematuria. He took treatment at their company hospital for his complaints. But he had no improvement. He was advised to go to Christian Medical College at Vellore. After thorough examination of the patient they repeated that the patients is having an inflammation of kidney and diagnosed as Nephritis. Since there was no relief he wanted to consult with me. With the above symptoms, I remember the clinical material Medica by Dr. EA Farrington that following renal symptoms, Terebinthina comes in a your remedy. Dull pain in the region of the kidneys, burning during micturition. The urine is characterized dark, cloudy smoky looking as though it contained decomposed blood which in fact it does. When the above urinary symptoms are present, you may give Terebinthia.
I gave Terebinthina 30 for 1 week. After 3 days, the patient reported that he had severe aggravation of abdomen pain with vertigo. I gave placebo for 7 days and after that his pain subsided with no blood in urine.
