History:28 year old female came to me with complaint of amenorrhea since 8 yrs who had been taking metformin tablets monthly. She was taking medication due to suppression of dermatitis since 8 yrs.Physical Characteristics:Sleep: NormalThirst: ThirstyThermal: ChilliSweat: Profuse on face, back and offensiveUrine: Normal. Stool: Difficulty when eating fat foods, aversion to meat and sweets Appetite: Good Menses: Menarche at the age of 15 yrs regular cycle for 5 yrs with Amenorrhoea at the age of 20 yrs. Heavy flow for 2 days, offensive, dark red clots with headache during menses. Leucorrhea: Thick white corroding the linen Personal History:Married for 7 yrs with engineer, 2 younger siblingsShe was educated as an Engineer and worked as a lecturer for 3 yrs before marriage. She has a 6 year old boy who was delivered via Caesarean section.Family History: Mother had fibroid uterus with hysterectomy done at the age of 36Father: Healthy Mind: History of Dermatitis due to stress of her mother’s health. Her father has a very dominating personality and adds frustration further added by her mother in law with aggressive nature as well. Her husband is very stingy and is always particular about her shopping for even essential needs. She wants to be independent and would like to pursue Masters to further advance her career. She has no interest in household chores. She is timid and broods over her position in family.
THERAPY:
Graphites 200x followed with placebo for 5 months.
Follow-up:
Both the ovary size reduced from 41,36 to 12 and 16mm. She started getting her normal menstruation cycle with normal stool. Her headache improved with no sign of dermatitis between her fingers.
I selected this medication because of patient’s characteristics of chilly, thirsty, anxious, intelligent, wants to be independent, feels financial pressure with history of dominant personality, sensitive to criticism and aversion to meat.
