Science and Research Studies on Ayurvedic Permanent Solution for Psoriasis Skin Disease
Ayurvedic treatment for skin disease is considered to be one of the most preventive, preservative and rehabilitative therapies for treating skin disease. In a clinical trial, where a total of 111 patients were given ayurvedic treatment, also observed good results causing improvement in their quality of life in terms of Dermatology life quality index and Psoriasis disability index. The patients selected for the ayurvedic treatment of Psoriasis were divided into two groups where one group received Navayasa Rasayana Leha and Dhatryadhyo lepa which can be applied on the skin. Whereas, the other group received Medhya Rasayana drugs, along with the external application of Dhatryadhyo lepa. The treatment was continued for 3 months followed by one month of follow–up.
Siddha medicine for psoriasis is one of the most ancient treatments followed all over the world. Siddha medicine believes in treating the patient with safe herbal and herbo mineral products. A 26-year-old man suffering from chronic stable psoriasis skin problem took a Siddha treatment plan for his psoriatic lesions. During the treatment, the man was treated with the application of vetpalai thailam which is extensively used in sidha medicine for external application. Chirattai thailam obtained from coconut shells was also used as a keratolytic agent during the treatment. The treatment was continued for 6 weeks where the patient’s lesions disappeared within the treatment.
Other Siddha treatment for psoriasis includes administering Gandhaga Mezhugu, at a dosage of 500 mg two times a day along with cow’s milk for a period of 48 days. This treatment can be a permanent solution for your psoriasis if you strictly follow certain dietary modifications which include avoiding sour and salty foods, citrus and seafood.
Another example of Ayurvedic therapy for skin diseases such as Psoriasis has shown positive outcomes. A 36-year-old female who was suffering from psoriasis vulgaris for the last seven years was selected for the treatment. During the treatment, she was administered with internal and external therapies along with Shodhana therapies. She was also given Thuvaraka Rasayana for around 43 days. After 43 days various histopathological studies and PASI scoring concluded that the lesions disappeared completely and the skin disease had been reversed. Treatment through Thuvaraka Rasayana has been found to have a definite role in successful remission of psoriasis as permanent solution.
