For all the clients who had Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 or Metabolic Syndrome, as a rule, after a complete physical examination, pulse examination (Nadi Pareeksha) and lab testing, the plan focuses upon four entities:
Diet modification,
lifestyle modifications,
Relevant herbs,
Panchakarma.
These tools apply differently to all as no two individuals are the same and Ayurveda being non-mechanical, no stereotype is practiced. In most cases, reducing their routine western medicine is the first target and its achievement is subjective to the precautions & instructions followed by the client. Many are able to shun most medicine and are well managed with diet and lifestyle modifications.
The Diabetes Mellitus type 2 (2000-2002) study showed a significant improvement in the Glycosylated Hemoglobin (GHb / HbA1c). This inferred an overall improvement at the cellular metabolism of glucose.
Some of the herbs used for Diabetes Disorder:
Amalaki,
Haridra,
Guggul,
Trikatu,
and Arjun.
Ayurveda Treatment Protocol:
The clients were advised a standard Ayurveda diet and lifestyle protocol, which included calorie restriction / intermittent fasting and an ideal daily routine. The herbs operated through their pharmacodynamics of Rasa, Guna, Veerya, Vipaka, and Prabhava.
The goal is to ensure the non-chemical management of DM type2 and Metabolic Syndrome for all. This can best be routed through educating one and all regarding the golden principles of Ayurveda against LifeStyle Diseases.
