The patient was suffering from severe pain, swelling, and crepitus in the knee joint, ankle, hip & back for the last 68 years, he had taken various treatments but could not get relief, instead, his condition was deteriorating as days went by, he had to take daily 3-4pain killers when the problem increased, stiffness was present in all joints, he was unable to walk if he did not take pain killers. Allopathic doctors said there was no other remedy than to take pain killer lifelong. He was referred that Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment in Ayurveda could yield relief so he decided to try.
Specific History (H/O PresentIllness)6-8-year-old pain, swelling, crepitus, restricted movement, disturbed gait. If pain killer is not taken all problems become severe.

H/O Past illness / Family History: No history of HTN/ DM/ Thyroid
Investigations Provided: X RAY -NAD, HLAB27 +VE, ESR 110,ASLO -308, CRP -96.5

Samprati Ghataka-
Dosha: Vata pradhan
Dushya:
Asthi,mansa,rasa,majja Adhistan: Sandhi
Srotas: Asthimajja Vaha
Sroto Dusti: Rasa Asthi
Nidana: Vata increasing diet that contains dry, light, cold items, overthinking, fasting, ignoring natural urge, progressive physical deterioration, excessive exercise, etc.
Chikitsa Sutra
· Nidana Parivarjanam: Avoidance of factors in diet and routine that increase symptoms by aggravating doshas.
· Shaman
Chikitsa Sutra: Pitta Vata Shaman, Ama pachan, Srotoshodhan, Snehan.
Specific Advice for treating Rheumatoid Arthritis through Ayurveda:
Pathya: Patient was advised langhana, diet as per charaka trividh kukshi vimaana adhyaya.
Apathya: Avoid dry heavy meal, cold or frozen diet, late night dinner
October 2017: Above medicines were continued.
Nov 2017: Instead of pipali churna, rasnadi churna was added, sandhi dosh har guggulu in place of mahayograj guggulu, erand oil was continued till end. Relief was mild 10 -20 %
December 2017: Same medicines were continued. 50-60% relief in all symptoms, pain killer totally stopped, the patient got faith in our
treatment
Jan, Feb, and March 2018:
Treatment was continued till the last phase of recovery, he is now very happy. Pain swelling, restricted movement is completely gone, 95 % relief, even after reducing medicine he has no complaints and he is leading a healthy and comfortable daily routine.
Modifications/Changes made in the prescription of treating Rheumatoid Arthritis through Ayurveda during the course. Below changed medicines were given as per the patient’s feedback:
October 2017: Above medicines were continued.
