History:Wednesday, Sep 14, 2016:At night, my Dad developed sudden onset high grade fever 103-104°F with extreme body aches. On the basis of the clinical presentation, I diagnosed the condition as chikungunya and gave him paracetamol tablet and did cold sponging as I was not having any antibiotics at home. My father was not able to sleep that night due to extreme body pains and fever.Thursday, Sep 15, 2016:In the morning my family members suggested me to start some antibiotic, and not go for ayurveda in such a condition. They were actually planning to take him to hospital.
Case Management:
I preferred ayurveda and bought Dr.Vasishth’s ANTIVIR Tablets, as well as, Cefixim tablets. However, I started only ANTIVIR Tablet – 1 tablet after every 3 hours. I didn’t start Cefixim. After 5 hours, my father who was unable to talk properly in the morning, first sat up, then stood up, and thereafter started walking. He then asked for something to eat! I continued with ANTIVIR Tablet. In addition, I started Giloy 2 pills after every 2 hours, and Dolo 1 tablet sos. CBC report showed platelet count 140 k.
Friday, September 16, 2016:
Dad was quite better. But his CBC report showed platelet 117 k.
Monday, September 19, 2016:
My Dad is fine today. His is doing his daily activities. His platelet count has risen to 132 k today.
