Physical Therapy For Restoring Mobility Without Pain

Table of Contents

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy is prescribed to help patients just like
you increase movement, restore function, and return to daily activities without
pain. Physical therapy or “medically guided rehab” restore your body
to it’s proper balance and function by stretching muscles which are chronically
tight and strengthening muscles which have weakened over time. Our patients include many people which were involved in
automobile accidents and are suffering from whiplash conditions.

Normal therapy will include a series of stretches, cervical
traction, and mobilizations. Exercises prescribed by the supplier are intended
to maximize your endurance and strengthen muscles that may have been diminished
because of an injury like an auto accident. More advanced exercises focus on
improving strength, balance, and coordination. Our aim is to help you achieve
your health targets and to let you work at work and home without pain.

How does physical therapy work?

In our office, we function as a team to get you better. This
may include treatments like chiropractic care, trigger point injections and
physical treatment. Our experts will do several tests to ascertain what is
right for you and your situation after doing a comprehensive history and
examination together with any necessary diagnostic tests such as x-rays. After
reviewing your situation, if it’s medically necessary, you’ll be prescribed
physical therapy. Physical therapy is intended to help your body restore it’s
normal function and get you back to your daily activities without pain.

Every session will build on the past as you get stronger and
improve. Sessions normally last up to one hour.

While your physicians recommend the best care plan for you,
it’s equally important that you’re consistent with your treatment for the
results that you want and want. Your results ultimately depend on you.

Prepare for your appointment

Because your clinically directed rehab requires various
movements, it’s necessary that you come properly dressed. Loosely fitted
clothes and comfortable shoes are best and it’s great to prevent skirts and
sandals.

Electrical muscle stimulation therapy

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) or Muscle Stimulation is
a superb therapy to get tight muscles to relax. Tight muscles that are in spasm
can be calmed down with this passive treatment. This is done by sending a tiny
electrical current through the muscle in spasm letting it relax. Most patients
say they feel a sense of comfort and even fall asleep while getting this done.
