Chickpeas are good sources of fiber, folic acid, and manganese as well as minerals such as iron, magnesium, copper and zinc. Chickpeas are an extremely low-fat and complete protein food. This dish also includes a very important ingredient
called Turmeric, a spice that is widely used in
Chinese and Indian systems of medicine and cooking where it is valued for its
effective anti-inflammatory properties. 
 

Science and Research

Turmeric spice contains the key compound, Curcumin, which is a known anti-inflammatory compound. Moreover, chickpeas are a good source of Vitamin A, B, C and E, iron, calcium, and potassium. Roasted chickpeas with turmeric spice are low in fats and high in proteins, making them ideal for arthritic patients. Turmeric reduces the swelling present in the joints and decreases the inflamed joints and reduces pain. Several research studies have been conducted and Curcumin found in turmeric has proven to be effective in preventing joint inflammation
