32-year-old female complained about sneezing, running nose headache, red eyes and chronic fatigue. Her condition got worse during the spring bloom time at the time of high pollen count in air.
She was prescribed the following routine with Ayurveda therapies:
-Snehan(facial massage)
-swedan (fomentation)
– Nasya for 15 days with nasya oil (medicated oil)
– Dhoompan (herbal inhalation)
Nasya treatment refers to an Ayurvedic therapy that includes instillation of herbal oils, or powder throght the nose. This type of therapy is very effective for ear, nose and throat related conditions.
Nasya treatement is also included in the Panchkarma therapy and is highly effective for medical conditions related to the face of the body.
The patient has been suffering from Sinusitis from over 15 years and always complained about chronic headache and inability to breath properly.
Duration of Overall Ayurvedica Therapy: 2 months
Nasya Therapy: 15 days with Dhoompan (herbal inhalation)
With follow-up after 4 weeks, Sinusitis was completely healed with positive patient outcome.
