Patient described a range of symptoms including severe continuous sneezing, running nose, nasal blockage at night, chest congestion, breathlessness, dry mouth due to mouth breathing followed by nasal obstruction, etc. He reported that although he suffers round the year, these symptoms are more aggravated during cloudy and rainy weather conditions. Patient was on allopathic medicine for HTN and anti- allergic tablets for sinus problem.Specific History (H/0 Present Illness)He has been facing this health issue for last four years. Nidana: Suppression of urges, exposure to smoke, dust, etc., unnatural weather conditions, sleeping during the day, contact with extreme cold or foggy weather, staying awake till late at night, anger, anxiety, stress, and other related factors.
Nidana Parivarjan- Avoidance of things in diet and routine that will prevent the progression of the disease.
Shodhan Chikitsa- Couple of home-based techniques are suggested
Sattvavjay Chikitsa- Patient education, expectation management, and approach of treatment is shared
Pathya: Practice of jal neti, consuming turmeric with warm milk, oil application in nostrils, steam inhalation, regular consumption of Chyawanprash, taking boiled water of Shunthi, Ajavain, and Saunf at night along with yoga-pranayam, anulom-vilom, etc.
Apathya: Frozen and cold preparations, ice cream, cold drinks, chocolate, fast foods, deep-fried, oily, spicy items, eating late at night and staying awake, exposure to cold winds and pollutants like dust, smoke, etc.
