One of our regular patients, previously treated and cured for Psoriasis, asymptomatic for more than a year presented with large suppurated eruptions on face and neck. Eruptions, crusty, yellow, oozing a thick discharge. Confluent clustered eruptions around the mouth, chin, cheeks and below eyes. The patient had h/o fever with mild throat symptoms 4 days ago. Subsided with a few doses of Paracetamol. The eruptions started after the fever subsided. Initially inflamed, itchy turned large fluid-filled blisters. She said I want this to subside soon as I am due to give my final graduation examination 4 days from now.
Based on the history of fever, the nature of eruptions and the discharge and the fulminant character of the skin, we gave her one dose of Pyrogen 200 followed by Calcarea sulph 30 c, bd for 3 days and asked to send a picture after 3 days or report earlier SOS. Calacarea sulpuricum is one of the gems of our materia medica, never fails in cases of impetigo, boils, acne vulgaris, abscesses, diabetic carbuncles, any suppurative, crusty eruptions which secrete yellow, thick.discharge. Has worked so well in this case too. Pyrogen was given to quickly overcome the pathological obstacle as the progress was rapid and fulminant. The rightfully indicated homeopathic remedy when given appropriately will not just give quick and effective relief but save the patient so much distress and cost too! This is classic Pyoderma treatment in Homeopathy done with success.
