A 50-year-old male patient presented in our clinic in an anxious, panicked state. He had been suffering from Vertigo for 3 years, since 1-year complaints opening eyes, constipation, driving. concomitant and severe nausea.
He would feel better only after taking tablet Vertin. His need for Vertin had gone up in the past 6 months. His complaints started when he was undergoing rest following his cardiac bypass surgery. After repertorisation, remedies most similar and indicated were Phosphorus, Silicea, Conium, Calcarea carb, Sulphur, Nux vomica. The differentiating rubric was ‘ Ailments Convalescence During or Since’, the remedy with 4 marks in Complete repertory is *Calcarea carb*. Three doses of Calcarea carb 200, over 3 days reduced vertigo by almost 50%. After 5 weeks, the patient had another episode, when Calcarea carb 1 M was given as a single dose. He hasn’t had a single incident of vertigo for two years.
In cases of paucity of PQRS symptoms, it is the one keynote characteristic that can clinch the case. It is almost always there, the skill is in eliciting it!
