A 64-year-old male with diabetes was suffering from a non-healing wound. He came to our clinic in Aug’18 for treatment. He had been suffering from Diabetes for the last 20 years and had undergone amputation on both toes and fingers.
After taking a thorough history of the patient ayurvedic therapies (leech therapy) were planned for him along with the external and internal medications. He underwent 2 sessions after a 30-day interval. The patient was relieved of his symptoms around 60% after the first session. After the last session on 30.9.18, the patient got 90% relief. His wound was completely healed and he was able to walk and do other routine work normally. Gangrene treatment in Ayurveda can be successfully treated as is evident in this case.
