I got my blood test done and I was diagnosed that I suffer from obesity and that I have high levels of triglycerides and LDL ("bad") cholesterol in my bloodstream. In addition, I suffered from moderate asthma with breathing problems (sleep apnea), joint problem of the knees, hips, and lower back.
With the deterioration of my health because of overweight, I had problems with breathing every day. I dreamt of losing my life, so my main motivation was to take some action to repair my health condition.
Be persistent! Don’t search for an excuse, just because you are lazy or afraid to try something new. Find time to cook your own meals it’s really not so hard and it will not take much of your free time and don’t forget that it will bring you plenty of health benefits and raise the quality of your life. I lost 40 pounds and my breathing problems have nearly diminished
When it comes to exercising I must admit that I am a lazy person, even walking is hard for me, but I really decided that I need to include some kind of exercise not only with the aim to lose weight, but because it is good for my overall well-being. Because of my weight, I could include only walking and I did that every day for at least an hour. The first a few days it was a real struggle for me, and I would just stand breathless after just 5 minutes of walking. Now, I even go to the gym 2 times per week.
For years, I have been struggling with my weight gain and I tried every single diet I heard of, read about, or someone suggested I try. I manage to lose some pounds with some of them but after some time I would gain even more pounds then I had before the diet. I must admit that it was a frightening time of my life because I was even afraid to look myself in the mirror not to mention how scary I was to stand on the scale. My diet went from fasting to overeating; I believe you got a pretty good picture of my eating habits.
I finally decided to reach out to a dietitian and get the personalized consultation to help me reduce my weight. I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised when she gave me some tips, how to avoid cravings when I start with my “new dieting”. One of them was to drink 2 cups of water 15 minutes before I start to eat a meal. She really explained to me why would it be better for me to include foods as fatty fish, avocado and olive oil. She gave me really good and easy to prepare meal plan and I must say that I lost 20 pounds during the first 3 months and what is more important that I didn’t have crave for any sugary foods.
