About me

She was born in Prague, Czech Republic where she completed diploma of Early Childhood Education and a Physiotherapy degree in 2005. Since graduation she furthered her knowledge and skills through various specialised post graduate courses and workshops. Monika began her career as a physiotherapist of children with special needs. She also worked with parents and inspired them to use effective techniques to support their children's optimal psychomotor development. In 2009 she set up her own private practice in Prague where she focused her therapy towards women's health related issues and gained rich experience in working with women of all ages. After coming to Australia and settling in tropical Cairns in 2011 she completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Hridaya Yoga Academy, a Rainbow Kids Yoga Teacher Training and specialised courses of Yoga Therapy for Women's Health. Monika is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. In 2017 she went to Europe to meet Dinah Rodrigues from Brazil, 91-year-old founder of internationally recognised Hormone Yoga Therapy and completed a HYT Teacher Training for Women and Diabetes with her. Monika is the first Certified HYT teacher in Queensland and representative of HYT in Australia. Hormone Yoga Therapy workshops are now available in Cairns, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. She is a registered physiotherapist in the Czech republic and is currently in the process to become a fully registered physiotherapist in Australia. In 2018 she created Symphony Move for women that wish to optimise their health and wellbeing; offering various movement programs for women of all ages. In her work she combines a variety of Eastern and Western movement approaches to create a holistic solution for each client. Monika also offers programs for parents and their babies. She organises women's health & wellbeing workshops and retreats as well as collaborates with physiotherapists, naturopaths, psychologists, gynaecologists and other medical providers. Monika is known for her gentle and friendly approach. She always provides a safe, understanding and non-judgmental environment full of encouragement. She believes that education and self-management support is the key element of a successful outcome. Monika is available for private consultations, group classes and workshops.
