About me
I am a registered Nutritionist (RNutr) with specialism in public health and over 8 years of experience as nutrition and lifestyle consultant. I am a regional representative of the Association for Nutrition (AfN). I led several projects focused on health improvement and promotion, providing informed evidence-based choices following the NICE and SACN guidelines. These range from tackling obesity and diabetes and facilitating lifestyle and behavioural changes with the 'Kent community Health NHS trust' to running research projects with Cambridgeshire County Council.
As a nutritionist, I always try to make a positive impact on the lifestyle choices of communities and clients for the better. I worked in a multicultural environment and can understand the varied needs of people from diverse backgrounds, and their health inequality challenges. I identify their barriers and suggest ways to overcome them, implementing tools such as motivational interviewing and behavioural modification techniques. My aim is to promote long-term physical and mental health solutions for employees and support employers in reaching excellence in frameworks such as the Workplace Wellbeing Charter.
As a Superwellness associate, I am actively involved in projects with clients across different sectors from media to sustainable agriculture. Recently, I assisted in delivering a Nutritional Challenge at Café Spice Namaste, working with a culturally diverse team and supporting them to optimise their traditional diet for maximum health and wellbeing.
I work with Diabetes UK to facilitate a local Diabetes peer group and organize fundraising events for the charity. I am a tutor on an online public health nutrition master's degree course and leads some of their modules.
