About me

Girlene Coughlin, RDN, CPT Nutrition, Health and Wellness Services I am nutritionist and Diet Therapy who has clinical inpatient, outpatient, retail and corporate wellness experience. My specialties for consultations are weight management and diabetes management, and I also provide grocery store tours, pantry makeovers, nutrition workshops, talks and seminars. I can perform nutrition assessments and nutrition counseling in English, Spanish and in Portuguese. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science from Rutgers University, and a Dietetic Internship comprised of 1200 hours of supervised practice at UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, now also Rutgers University), to study the Medical Nutrition Therapy for chronic diseases and other medical conditions. I then passed a National Registration Examination to become a Registered Diet Therapy. In addition to the above, I completed the Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management in October of 2013, provided by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I became a Certified Personal Trainer in February of 2016 through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and I am working on other new health-related credentials that will benefit my clients even more.
