About me
Hey hey! I'm so happy you're here!
I'm Corinne Angelica, a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist! I help women regulate their period, manage PCOS, transition off birth control and boost fertility by targeting the ROOT CAUSE of their imbalances and treating it NATURALLY with nutrition & lifestyle shifts.
A GLIMPSE INTO MY PCOS JOURNEY
I began to experience my own personal health issues when I was 23 (2013). I was constantly bloated, constipated, and couldn't lose any weight despite working out and eating (what I thought was at the time) a healthy diet.
I also suffered from severe migraines at least 1-2 times a month with no known cause even after getting MRIs and consulting a neurologist.
I went to a gastroenterologist who diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (which I now know is a symptom of a hormonal imbalance) and suggested medication. I didn't want to take a pill every day at 23 years old so I was on my own to figure it all out.
After doing my research and experimenting in my own body, I radically changed my lifestyle and reversed all of my symptoms. The transformation I experienced was not only physical, but mental and emotional as well.
From this, I discovered a passion inside myself and decided to go back to school for Holistic Nutrition (I originally went to school for teaching Spanish & ENL).
That sounds like the end to a nice story right? Well, not so fast!
Although reversing my symptoms of IBS and migraines was a HUGE triumph, my health journey wasn't over. During this time I also lost my period.
Let's back it up one more time: I had an irregular cycle from the day I first got it when I was 15 years old. I would skip months; sometimes 1, sometimes 3, sometimes 6.
There was never any rhyme or reason to it! It came when it wanted to, or it didn't.
Because of this irregularity, I was tested for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). But since I didn't have many cysts on my ovaries, and my blood work was "normal-, this diagnosis was ruled out. My gyno told me as long as I get 3-4 periods a year it was okay.
What in the world?! At the time I trusted my doctor and didn't think anything of it. Fortunately, I now know that's complete BS. Not only is it NOT HEALTHY OR NORMAL to only have 4 periods a year, but I also DO HAVE PCOS.
So after years of irregularity without any identified cause, in 2016 I lost my cycle completely (which is formally called Amenorrhea). I went a full 2 years without one period. Not even a dot! I remember thinking
"What's wrong with me? Will I ever be able to have children naturally? Will I ever get my period again?-
I refused to take hormones to "solve- this syndrome. I wanted to get to the root of the issue and heal it at its core. So I decided to figure it out naturally and allow my body to do what our bodies are meant to do- heal.
After many trial and errors, extensive research, using food, herbs and supplements as medicine and experimenting in my own body, my period returned, naturally, on Valentine's Day in 2018! I have gotten it consistently ever since and STILL am amazed when it comes each month.
My experience has led me to want to help as many people as possible to return to balance, manage their hormones, and actually feel good in their own bodies.
I always thought I was the only one suffering from Amenorrhea/PCOS and that no one could relate to me.
I now realize that THOUSANDS of people suffer from this, as well as many other hormonal imbalances and reproductive disorders. I am dedicating my life to serving all the women that think there's something wrong with them, who want to take a holistic approach to healing, and who have lost hope in their bodies.
I (as well as my clients) am living proof that you can get to the root of the issue, naturally restore your hormones and feel better than you ever have before. All without the use of synthetic hormones masking the root cause.
My journey wasn't easy or short, nor is it ever fully complete, however each roadblock I faced led me to this moment and I wouldn't want it any other way. Always, ALWAYS trust the process and MIND your hormones.
