Indigenous Nutritionist, Exercise
Total years in practice: 4
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from New York University. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Southern Maine and am a certified PMA Pilates Teacher.
I love the Dietetic Special Interest groups within the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I am involved in Dietitians in Functional and Integrative Medicine, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, and Women’s Health DPG’s. I am also a new member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine where I am actively involved in staying up-to-date on the latest research on fertility and achieving a healthy pregnancy through lifestyle factors.
I am a proud Co-Founder of Dietitians for Professional Integrity, a not-for-profit organization of dietitians nationwide that believe the American public deserves nutrition information that is not tainted by food industry interests. One of my most exciting and rewarding ventures is working with RISE, a mobile app that allows me to be a personal dietitian to people all over the world and Maven Clinic, a NYC startup by women and for women, which utilizes tele-medicine to provide one-on-one counselling.
I meet people where they are at and emphasize the connection between food and cultural backgrounds.
