About me
Dr. Jessica Dupont is a Naturopathic Doctor, Birth Doula, mother and plant-based foodie. She maintains a General Family practice with a focus in Hormonal Regulation, Women's Health (PMS, Fibroids, PCOS, Endometriosis, Menopause, etc.), Fertility, & Perinatal Care. Outside of the clinic, she teaches the Naturopathic Doula Course to associate Naturopathic Doctors across North America and the UK, is founder of York Region Naturopathic Doulas, and is the Creator of the noteworthy online fertility program Baby Bloomers. Dr. Jessica integrates conventional medical research with Naturopathic principles and modalities giving you a unique integrative approach to your health to allow the body to restore balance and achieve optimal health. As a new venture, Dr. Jessica has now launched her blog "Beauty and the Babe-, a blog focused on beauty inside and out for moms (or moms to be) and babies and everything in between.
Having attended and assisted with almost 300 births, Dr. Jessica has experience working cooperatively with midwives, obstetricians, family physicians and nursing staff to assist women and their partners before, during and after the birth of their child. Dr. Jessica is a mother herself and recognizes birth as a vital, vulnerable, & beautiful experience in the life of a mother and family. Her goal is to ensure she has a complete understanding of mom-to-be's values and aspirations for her birth in order to offer her and her partner the information, emotional and physical support they require to have the most positive birth experience possible and an easy transition into parenthood.
EDUCATION
Dr. Jessica obtained her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in Biopharmaceutical Science and Clinical Research in Breast Cancer with the Faculty of Medicine at University of Ottawa. Additional professional certifications include Biotherapeutic Drainage (Detoxification), Doula Training, Mesotherapy/Biopuncture, Biolinguistic Kinesiology, and Cosmetic Acupuncture.
Dr. Jessica has worked alongside Dr. Antonio Kos, MD (Timmins, ON), Dr. Peter D`Adamo, ND (Best-selling author of Eat Right for Your Type and creator of Blood Type Diet), Dr. Ginger Nash, ND., Dr. James S. Sensenig, ND., Dr. Jared Skowron, ND (author of Fundamentals of Naturopathic Pediatrics) and Dr. Ameet Aggarwal, ND (Founder of FIMAfrica, Kenya, Africa). She has also treated alongside FIMAfrica, a charitable organization that provides alternative healthcare via mobile clinics to underprivileged communities in Kenya. As such, Dr. Jessica has experience in assessing and treating HIV, Malaria, Typhoid, Malnutrition, Musculoskeletal and Respiratory syndromes using Homeopathic Remedies and Nutrition. Jessica has also treated the Aboriginal Community at the Anishnawbe Health Toronto clinic in Toronto, ON.
In guiding and supporting people on their self-healing and spiritual journeys, Dr.Jessica serves as a teacher and healer, and believes that teamwork is of utmost importance when it comes to your health. Dr. Jessica creates a safe healing space and works with the Healing Power of Nature to restore your body`s balance in all spectrums of health to obtain your Best and Healthiest YOU.
Some fun facts: Dr. Jessica is a plant-based foodie (ask her anything about nutrition and she is a never-ending source of amazing alternatives and recipes), she used to be an actress on TV (yes, in a past lifetime), she is the mother of a busy and adventurous toddler who keeps her up all night (and somehow she still functions), and her one thing she can't do without is her morning Matcha tea latte with almond milk and honey (check her recipe in her blog). When not busy in the clinic, Dr. Jessica enjoys spending time in nature, meditating, staying active and doing yoga, watching movies and sharing precious time with her family and Rhodesian Ridgeback, Maple. She also embraces her artistic side and enjoys painting, art, acting and singing. Dr. Jessica is an animal activist and active member in her community. She fundraises for numerous children and animal charities and lives by the Truth that we have to be the change we want to see in the world.
