About me

Dr. Valerie LeComte

I have been practicing emergency medicine for the past six years. Throughout this time, I have become disenchanted with the way the medical system operates. Both patients and doctors are unhappy and frustrated right now. Medical care has been reduced to short, infrequent visits with a myriad of specialists that leave patients with a stack of prescriptions and a lot of confusion. And even more, concerning-they are not getting better. Doctors are frustrated by their inability to make true change and by insurance companies and administrators being the dictators of care.

Since medical school, health and wellness have been one of my biggest passions. I have dealt with my own medical problems including eczema and poor digestion. I knew the answers medicine had for me-none of which would fix the problem. Even most of the functional medicine offered a large amount of supplementation instead of a real cure. I took matters into my own hands and began learning everything I could. Throughout this journey, I have been researching and incorporating a variety of practices in my life including nutrition, acupuncture, herbalism, breathwork, meditation, yoga, fitness, and spirituality. I have come to believe strongly in mind, body, spirit medicine. We are interconnected beings and all of these need to be taken into account if we want to reach our highest potential. A great diet is important, but can only do so much if you are super stressed out by an unfulfilling job or a toxic relationship. During this process, I realized I had to use my knowledge and integrate everything I've learned to help others in a different way. My goal is to work with people that want a true change in their life to help facilitate their highest health.

Experience

I'm a doctor. And a wellness expert. I have a strong scientific background and training as well as several years of working as a doctor. I've seen thousands of patients in that process. During this entire time, I've also been learning about wellness and health. I have both the formal education and the motivation to self-study in the areas where my training was lacking. You aren't getting someone with a degree from the internet when you hire me. You are getting a highly qualified professional.
