Established in 1915, Sreechithra Ayurvedic Hospital and Wellness Centre was founded by P.K.narayan vaidyan's Ayurvedic tradition. It has been acquiring knowledge of the divine science of Ayurveda and traditional ayurvedic treatment for decades. Legacy and pride of this divine knowledge was passed on to his eldest son Dr N. Balaraman a dedicated doctor who carried out his life as a mission to set up and serve traditional ayurvedic treatment. The job of archiving his mission and vision was further passed on to his succeeding generation of professionally qualified and gifted ayurvedic doctors committed to sustain tradition and the pride Ayurveda.

Dr. Vivek Ajith hails from a traditional ayurvedic family. The concept of Sreechithra was laid by his great grandfather P.K.Narayanan Vaidyar who was a royal physician to Sri. Sreechithira Thirunal Maharaja of trivandrum.

Abyangam ( Body Massage with Medicated Oil)
Massaging the whole body with medicated oil in a systematic manner improves circulation and helps relax the muscles. The process can also be done on part of the body affected by ailments. Abyangam also helps relieve stress and physical exertion.
Shiro Dhara: Head Massage with Medicated Oil)
Medicated oil is poured in a vessel and falls in a pattern of an uninterrupted stream on to the forehead. It is done in a controlled manner to monitor the oil stream on the head. There is scientific evidence that proves its efficacy from insomnia, stress, migraine, brain disorders etc. Medicated oil can also be replaced with medicated buttermilk or medicated decoction according to the patient's disease. Benefits include better sleep, relief from mental stress and correction of disorders of eyes and vision.
Njavara kizhi (shashtika shali pinda sweda)
Medicated rice bolus in a cloth pouch cooked in milk is used for massage on the full body. This procedure is used for regaining the muscle tone and improving nerve conduction, nourishing the tissues and strengthening tendons and spine. It also relieves neurological and spinal disorders. Benefits include rejuvenation of muscles, tissues and bones.
Pizichil (Sneha Dhara)
Process of pouring warm medicated oil along the body maintaining the temperature and flow. This treatment process is nourishing as well as a curative treatment for the body that helps relieve from the musculo-skeletal pain and strengthening the muscles, joints and spine.

Joint and Rheumatic Care
The major problems related joints are degenerative disorders which start by the age period of late 45. The first line of treatment will be internal medicines to correct digestion and to reduce fever and swelling in joints. Warm fomentation with herbal powder and medicinal wraps are ideal in this stage.
Whereas in chronic arthritis there will not be any fever but movements will be restricted with pain and swelling.This is termed as sandhivata / Osteoarthritis.This is treated with oil massage, Certain type of fomentation with herbal powders, oil bath to local part (sneha dhara) and shastika pinda swedam (Njavara kizhi)
