How it works

Ayurveda View of Diabetes:

Ayurveda connects Physical (prakriti) + spiritual (purusha), and physiologic processes to help bring a balance between the mind, body, and soul.

Goal: Bring equilibrium between the 5 basic elements

(Panchamahabhutas) of earth, water, fire, air, and ether

Theory of 3 Body Dosha or Life Forces:

Vata (ether and air)

Pitta (Fire)

Kapha (Earth + Water)

Gunas of Mind:

rajas, tamas, and satva are the gunas of the mind.

According to Ayurveda, striking an equilibrium between the doshas corresponds to good health. Any imbalance will lead you to disease.

Ayurveda believes that poor digestion is one of the primary causes of diabetes. Ama or toxins are accumulated in your body due to weak digestion. Accumulation of "Ama- impairs the production of insulin in the body. Ayurveda looks at fixing the root cause of Diabetes that would help remove toxins from your body. We use a combination of diet, ayurvedic herbs to cleanse the body from impurities, help improve digestion and improve your immune system. As a result, counseling should lead you to restore balance of your mind and body.

In Ayurveda, Diabetes is classified under urinary disorders mentioned under Prameha. Diabetes is referred to as Madhu Meha.

All the conditions in Ayurveda are treated with:

Ahara (Diet),

Vihara (Lifestyle)

Oushada (Medicine)

Kriya (Therapy).
