About me

Myla Grytsyna

"When yoga came into my life, it brought balance, freedom of thought, openness to people and new ideas, inner optimism, and a sound physical shape. Yoga helped me to open new horizons in understanding the environment, people, and myself.

With the help of yoga, I've learned to look at every moment realistically, fearlessly, and with love… …now I wish to share it with you-

Myla took her first Teacher Training with YogaWorks at Center for Yoga, where she acquired knowledge of proper alignment and anatomy of movement. Searching for the deeper meaning of yoga, she attended various workshops led by Annie Carpenter, Sherry Brourman, Andrei Lappa, Kia Miller, Duncan Wong, and Mark Whitwell, to name a few.

After spending four days with B.K.S. Iyengar at a conference in Moscow, Myla made up her mind to explore the origins of yogic tradition and to study it from the very roots. Grasping for more, her path led her to India, where she finished Yoga Teacher Training with Ayurveda. This intense training provided answers to many questions and made it very clear that yoga has much more to offer than asana practice.

Equipped with basic yoga therapy tools, Myla taught yoga in Ukraine for two years, working with structural and psychological imbalances. Seeing how the practice of yoga can alleviate pain and suffering, Myla shifted her practice from a strong vinyasa to a more therapeutic approach, by addressing individual needs in the class. She also finished her 300-hour Yoga Therapy Training led by Maetreyii Nolan, Ananda Deviika Ma, Sarasvati Buhrman, Mukunda Stiles, Jnani Chapman, Richard Miller, Gloria Tucker, Antonio Sausys, and Kelly McGonigal. She is currently enrolled in the California College of Ayurveda.

Expanding more horizons, Myla finished a 3-year program at California College of Ayurveda.

While pregnant, Myla completed Prenatal Teach Training with Juliette Kurth at Silverlake Yoga. Seeing the impact of yoga on her body during pregnancy and on rehabilitation during postpartum, Myla developed a deep passion for working with pregnant students. She feels honored to guide mothers during such incredible times, helping to relieve pregnancy aches and discomfort, to decrease anxiety, to feel strong and confident in their body, to prepare for the birth, and to slowly build the body to prepregnancy state.

Myla is also a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
