Vignette Ching, Acupuncture
Total years in practice: 10
Vignette. The number of years I have spent in school could rent a car. You might see one of my diplomas hanging on the clinic wall. It’s shiny. Outside university, I studied under artists, gurus, healers, and a New Orleanian shaman. I’ve read some books. I’ve been in a few avant-garde productions. I sang in an all-ladies, strings-only jazz band once. I am raising a small human I love. I worked as a server, a barista, a domestic violence advocate, a social work intern, a teaching artist, and security in my college-town’s civic auditorium. I believe life is long and you get to do all the things. I have a deep awe and affection for humanity and human ingenuity. I suspect social justice is our natural state, which is the real reason I think it’s important to take care of your health. There is nothing you have done, said, or felt that I think is too dark or too scary. Truly. There is nothing you can’t come back from. You are not broken. You don’t need to be fixed. We are living in a delicate and tumultuous era, and the world needs us to live up to our potential. Let’s do that together.
