A board-certified acupuncturist with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAAA). Registered massage therapist with Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC). Graduate of Nanyang University in China with a 4-year degree in Science. Completed a 3-year program in traditional Chinese medicine. Graduated 4-year acupuncture curriculum from Grant MacEwan University, and 2-year massage therapist certification from Archway college.
Dr. Liu is the second generation in her family to become a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor. She grew up learning traditional Chinese herbs and medicine from Zhang Zhong Jin Hospital in China. She furthered her experiences while working alongside her aunt in their family-owned holistic clinic in Canada. Dr. Liu has always been fascinated by the benefits holistic approaches in medicine do to the human body, and how it functions through nature.
Dr. Liu trained in both Western and Oriental medicine in China and Canada. She devotes her knowledge, skills, experience, compassion, and dedication to the cause of integrative medicine and Traditional Chinese medicine. Dr. Liu has been working in Acupuncture Care Holistic Center for almost 5 years with the practice of the mind/body connection in health and well-being. She combines a variety of treatment techniques, such as acupuncture, ear acupressure, electro-stimulation, moxibustion, cupping, guasha, and herbal medicine.
