Presenter: Chester Dickerson, Licensed Acupuncturist

My experience is having been a licensed acupuncturist, working for different rehabilitative facilities, and I was certified, by NADA, Jan 2010. To become a trainer, one must meet the requirements set out by NADA, many weekend trainings with a NADA Registered Trainer, minimum of two years experience as an ADS, recommendations and a sponsor. After having done 2 weekends, in Pueblo, CO, NADA offered me the opportunity as a trainer (in training) to teach for 7 days at the NADA Annual Conference, which was held in May 2019. After that, I trained for another weekend in MD, and was given the green light to become certified as a Registered Trainer.

About the Expert

Dr. Dickerson is a certified functional medicine practitioner and one of the few acupuncturists in the nation trained in auricular acupuncture.

Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and Auricular Acupuncturist

Certified Practitioner Functional Medicine specializing in Autoimmune Disorders.

Auricular Acupuncturist, specializing in Pain Management and Mental Health Disorders (PTSD, depression and anxiety).

My practice is one of duality; acupuncture and Integrative Medicine, implementing genomics. My specialties are autoimmune disorders and pain management. My treatments are patient-based with the goal of having my patients make the lifestyle changes needed to restore their health to a more homeostatic state. In so doing, focus is placed on the physiology and biochemical activity of the gut. It's been said , "you are what you eat", as well as "your gut is your second brain." Therefore, supplementing the deficiencies found and suggesting better nutrition are of the utmost importance.

Specializing in Detox, using NADA protocol, pain management, insomnia, and mental health issues (anxiety, depression and PTSD)

Patients are treated on a daily basis 5 days per week throughout their stay at the center. Those patients who are categorized as Intensive Outpatient (IOP) have the option of receiving Auriculotherapy, as well.

I have specialized in auricular and scalp acupuncture when treating my patients.

The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) protocol was implemented to treat addictions (mainly alcohol, nicotine, heroin and prescribed opiates). It has also become a valuable tool for treating psychological/mental disorders and PTSD
