Complaints: 3 years ago, the patient had a constant scrotal pain for 3 months. He took antibiotics but there was no relief. Recently, he had insomnia and anxiety, which were related to career. He was only able to sleep deeply once or twice a week.

Acupuncture: Left-side Yang Horary points in Wood-Order of GB44, SI2, ST43, LI5, and UB40 (ST36 is as good).

Treatment process: The first 2 treatments in Metal-Order of LI1, UB66, GB41, SI5, and ST36 did not provide a relief in scrotal pain. A switch to Wood-Order was noticeably better that same day. A total treatment of 8 visits was sufficient. When he returned for insomnia and anxiety, the same acupuncture points were again helpful. After 6 treatments, he is sleeping through the night in most evenings.

Discussion: Even when acupuncture is not known for certain problems, it does surprisingly well. Also, acupuncture is effective for anxiety related insomnia.
