The 82-year-old woman came to our clinic with Sciatica like pain in her left hip and leg for several years. She had been diagnosed with Arthritis in her lower spine. She had tried physiotherapy with no success and was on painkillers to help with pain relief. She was referred to our Acupuncture clinic by her friend who had recovered from Sciatica.
Acupuncture for Sciatica Relief
We started her treatment and had to schedule quite a few Acupuncture sessions. After a couple of sessions, she found relief and her sciatic and arthritic pain had reduced. She had a sharp and stabbing before her first session. Her shooting pain was reduced to an ache and after a few sessions, her ache also disappeared with no need for painkillers. She continued with acupuncture treatment for another 10 sessions, spread over 4 months, in which she ended up taking fewer painkillers and sleeping better. She was able to get relief from Sciatica with Acupuncture sessions.
