Medical Condition:

Knee Pain

Therapies:

Acupuncture

Type of Outcome:

Very Poor Poor Fair Good Very Good

Medical History:

A 54 year old working woman had been suffering from swollen knee as she had excess fluid that had accumulated around her knees. She needed help for going up the steps and had to take an office bus that required her to take help from someone. She was advised to take out the excess fluid from her knee by a physician.

Case Management:

There has been lot of evidence and research that proves Acupuncture has had positive outcomes and in some cases proven to beat drugs like Ibuprofen.  I advised her against taking out the excess liquid and recommended Acupuncture for 5 days with 30 minute duration. After 6 months of regular Acupuncture treatment, she recovered completely and can go up the stairs without any problem.
