Medical History:

A 32 year old male automobile mechanic had been suffering from knee pain. He had tried medication and other therapies before he came to our clinic in Coimbatore. It was difficult for him to get up after sitting for a long time and he had tried all other therapies except for Acupuncture.

Case Management:

After initial diagnosis, he suffered from dry knee joint or "Dehydrated Knee"  with tense joint with no lubrication. We prescribed 5 days of acupuncture therapy. In addition, I prescribed massage therapy with herbal oil along with the acupuncture treatment. After that once in a week. Acupuncture treatment was given for 6 months and He continued treatment of acupuncture for 6 months. There has been research done to prove efficacy of Acupuncture for knee pain. Please refer to the evidence published on this report that outlines summary from 10 clinical trials and shows Acupuncture as effective therapy. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2810544/ After 6 months of regular acupuncture therapy, the patient developed enough fluid in his knee joints and recovered fully. He is able to do his job as a mechanic properly.
